um, the poll gave the following choices:

    1. don't follow political news
    2. youtube/google (internet)
    3. cable news
    4. social media (internet)
    5. digital websites (internet)
    6. national network news
    7. newspapers

So basically what you said isn't true at all.

"Biden is the clear choice of voters who consume newspapers and national network news, while Trump does best among voters who don’t follow political news at all. " Oops, that's exactly what I said. No mention of internet/social media in this comparison.

What might the explanation be for that? What is the percentage of Democrats and Republicans among journalists? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...dy/ar-AA1ma9Eh Correlation or causation?

Later, "But it’s basically a jump ball among digital media consumers, with Trump at 47% and Biden at 44%." Why do you suppose that is? Perhaps more, or easier access to, balanced reporting? And, given the theory of primacy, why was this reported later in the article and not figured in the first quoted section? Because it shows Trump ahead? Because it demonstrates that among the digital consumers with knowledge of the legal cases against Trump he still comes out ahead?

There's a thread on this topic, but you have to wade through the derangement.

    Back on topic...

Lots of buzz about Biden commenting on the Trump "hush-money" trial verdict. Team red assumes "the fix is in", and this means a guilty verdict is forthcoming.

I think the alternate narrative is just as plausible, and Biden comments would be "damage control" if Trump is found not guilty - or there's a hung jury.

My understanding is that jury deliberations begin on Wednesday.

Also, Biden is reportedly going to deliver remarks from the White House, so as to appear "not political". That's ludicrous, as any comment will appear political since Trump is the presumptive nominee.

Either way, this is a losing proposition for Biden. If Trump is found guilty, he may lose some voters. But he will also gain some voters, between those that believe this is more evidence of lawfare and (I suspect) Black voters who will sympathize with perceived unjust prosecutions.

If Trump isn't found guilty, the need for damage control is obvious.

    Are you voting this time?

How many times do you need me to answer this question?

Not that it really matters. The likelihood my state goes for Trump is so great that me voting or not won't affect the outcome here.

Yeah, but that’s like your neighbors house caught on fire and your other neighbors tried to help, but you decided it wouldn’t matter if you tried.

I thought the arc of the "Trump visits the Libertarian Convention" kind of interesting.

The speech was overshadowed by a mix of cheers and boos, with Trump eventually taunting them with "enjoy your 3%"

Libertarians took to Twitter/X to laugh at Trump.

The Libertarian Party nominated this guy:

Libertarians took to Twitter/X, overwhelmingly commenting/posting things like this:

Trump secured 2% of those 3% Libertarian voters.
