Yes, looks good, but I am in UK, not shipping where I am. Also, I would like to sell some of my pens, before I will start hunting one down. Wednesday i will add some of my pens for sale, have a day off and can sort out photos and listing.

Or maybe visit pen stores like Dromgooles that have many used pens that might be swappable options. Also check out those pen stores that regularly sell used pens. For example Kirk Speer at Pen Realm had loads of pens for sale after he bought the estate collection of a Texan pen collector who sadly died. I believe many pen stores similarly buy used pens for sale. You would surely manage to get a decent used M800 at a price you can afford. Goos luck with your search.
Unfortunately I live o a small island near UK, there are slim chances to attend a pen show...Just online shopping
Sorry I should have checked out where in the world you are. I usually do but sadly I missed it this time.

I have in my Amazon saved for later items a black & green Pelikan M800 for £362 as an EU import that includes import fees deposit. You would not have to pay that deposit as you're tax free in Jersey. (Lucky you!!) It's not what you might call a great price but compared with many it's a decent price and for you at 20% less it's about as good as you will get. In fact, if I could have got it for 20% less it might not have been saved for later.

Maybe check Amazon and ebay regularly until you find one that suits you. Search for worldwide items. Also check Pure Pens & Cult Pens for reduced prices on offer at certain times of the year. The Writing Desk sometimes sells used pens. Good luck.

If bought in the US and then shipped to Jersey/UK, would it be cheaper? I'd be willing to help (so long as you'd reimburse me) .

    A: It can be.

I don't know anything about the rules of importing for The Channel Islands, but I know they are tax free so that may be helpful. For the UK you would need to add on an arm and a leg to get anything from the US that was worth that amount. It's a kind offer though. Thank you.

I will have to pay 5% of excess £60.00 declared value. I did not pay any tax when I bought pens from Karas Pen Co., maybe because the declared value went under the radar?!? I don't know.

Thank you very much everybody for their input, I will need to sort out some sales before thinking to buy a nice Pelikan M800 (green!) (in a range of £250?), as I do not want to spend any money from current account (bills, food, insurance...). I will sort out today and tomorrow what can be part away.

As far for the nib size, I think I would like a medium to fine...what are the opinions here? Also I would prefer in green, but the Stresemann looks so cool!

@ LLoyd: I am a serious family man, any help will be sort out very fast (PayPal?).

@ Chrissy: I have seen some Pelikans M800 on eBay less than £300, Japan import.

While I'd prefer a humorous family man, I won't hold your disposition against you. If I can be of help, let me know.

Seems that even with the VAT, it's less expensive to buy from the Japanese market.

Looking in another box with my pens, I just have found an old Pelikan 120 EF, which had a leak from it's section (been sent for a repair), I just ink with a blue ink:

I just got an M800 M nib form CultPens for £325 (birthday15 code for over £150 spent). I did use some money form PP balance, and didn't feel the sting that hard. I will update as soon as I will have the pen.
PS: my Bday is next week, just in time for a nice gift...

There is the Jinhao 100, which comes in many colors these days. It is very close in size, possibly in weight (my only Pel in that range is a M815 which has metal stripes that may cause it to weigh a bit more than a standard 800). The place where it comes closest is the section, which is virtually identical, but other areas of the pen, such as the clip and finial, are unlike the Pelikan. However, they are under $20, so it may be a very inexpensive way for you to see if the feel "in-hand" is really what you would like, and you can continue to save (and look) for the actual Pelikan 800. I say that because the writing experience of the Jinhao does not compare, and it is a converter/cartridge pen rather than a piston. A cheap trial run, but don't give up on the much better pen.
I too, would like to own an M800. Your suggestion for an interim pacifier pen is quite helpful. Thank you
