I write mostly with permanent or water-resistant inks such as; Pilot-Namiki Blue and Black, Parker Quink, Montblanc Permanent Blue and Black, and the De Atramentis Document series of inks.
I have read here that it’s not a good idea to shake or stir ESSRI type inks due to the insoluble precipitate that collects on the bottom of the bottle.
Aside from ESSRI IG inks, are there any others for which shaking, stirring, or otherwise gently agitating prior to filling a pen should be avoided?
Conversely, are there any types of inks where stirring things up is helpful or even required for best results?
Thank you very much for all responses. Your wisdom is much appreciated.
