Default Permanent Inks: Shaken or Stirred?

I write mostly with permanent or water-resistant inks such as; Pilot-Namiki Blue and Black, Parker Quink, Montblanc Permanent Blue and Black, and the De Atramentis Document series of inks.

I have read here that it’s not a good idea to shake or stir ESSRI type inks due to the insoluble precipitate that collects on the bottom of the bottle.

Aside from ESSRI IG inks, are there any others for which shaking, stirring, or otherwise gently agitating prior to filling a pen should be avoided?

Conversely, are there any types of inks where stirring things up is helpful or even required for best results?

Thank you very much for all responses. Your wisdom is much appreciated.

I tend to shake the hell out of my inks before filling, unless they are iron gall. I'm quite ashamed to realize this behavior actually extends to many liquid I use in my life...fruit juice to motor oil.

Pigment inks would probably benefit the most being shaken, like your MB and De Atramentis.

Note that by shaking you might create some ink bubbles, so yes a delicate stirring action is probably more advisable.

I shake my inks and never use any bottles that contain IG inks. I don't even like to use shimmer inks in many of my pens, so, for me, bits of wood (insoluble precipitates) fall into a similar category. Nothing I write needs to remain permanent forever. LOL

I shake all my inks (I don't think I have any IG in my arsenal). I find Noodlers Bulletproof Black (and Noodlers blends which contain Bulletproof Black) need shaking most.

M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
    A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
    A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
